Children are the most vulnerable and important part of any community. Healthy Glendale seeks to connect caring parents and community leaders with the resources to help ensure that the children in our neighborhoods continue to thrive.
The Glendale Adventist Medical Center Champions for Change Initiative is a program funded by the USDA that seeks to reduce the incidence of diabetes and obesity in Glendale by providing nutrition education and physical activity classes to both low-income residents and elementary school children.
In addition to our nutrition and physical activity classes, GAMC-Champions for Change also seeks to make healthy changes in the environments through the expansion and development of edible vegetable gardens in local Glendale elementary schools and community organizations.
